Every piece is an homage to time, spun with skilled hands and a sprinkle of Florentine flair.
Tell us what you’re debuting at COUTURE this year.
This year, I am going to introduce my Night & Day Moon Loop collection. These pieces express modernism and geometry, strength, and versatility. As with all my collections, they are inspired by the theme of time and evolved into square, cube, and rectangular objects of memory. I am also introducing a bold golden silk necklace to embellish my charm pendants, and I will add some new models to my assortment for the Carpe Diem and Ora Collection. Last, but not least, I am introducing a very special ring and pendant for my Buttoned Up Collection, bringing innovation and creativity to these fun and original pieces.
If you had to describe what prepping for COUTURE feels like, how would you describe it?
It is always exciting to prepare for such an important exhibition. At the same time, every year it feels like I am late with everything! I cannot wait to be there and see all my favorite people in the industry.
Which piece from the collection you’re showing at COUTURE best captures your essence as a designer?
My Teatro or Carpe Diem Collection. As a watch designer, introducing the theme of movement in jewelry and creating pieces that can move and transform always creates surprise and wonder and expresses the vision behind my brand. I love to say that I am not looking for beauty; I look for magic!
Who are you most excited to see at COUTURE?
I am very excited to be there with Muse and the whole dream team, whom I love. I am very happy to see friends like Becky from Beck, Satta from Matturi, Bea from Bea Bongiasca, Christina and Anastasia from Christina Alexiou, Sergio Antonini, Monica Rich Kosann, Morgan and Elana, and many other beautiful people and talented designers! \
Which historical era do you wish you could have designed jewelry in, and what appeals to you about that time?
The Belle Epoque was a time of joie de vivre – ‘joy of living’. In jewelry, the use of enameling, with plique—a—jour or cloisonnè, shows such fantastic attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Which artist or designer has had the most profound impact on your work, and how do they continue to influence you?
René Magritte, the surrealist artist, was known for challenging perceptions of reality with his abstract artwork. He questioned the nature of reality itself. This influenced me in my vision and my art.
Where is your favorite place to design, and how does this space influence your creative process?
Santarcangelo di Romagna, the little town where I live, is very special because nature and time are perfectly balanced. The sea is just a few minutes away, and from my window, it is just a dance of clouds, trees, and light. I am a “morning person,” so I usually wake up very early, and when everybody is sleeping, I start designing my world!
What is one thing you hope people will remember about your jewelry 100 years from now?
I hope they will remember my intention to send a very deep and innovative message about the concept of time. There are so many beautiful jewelry and watches in the world, but no one has designed one that reminds us that Time is precious and each second counts. That’s why I have created my brand. For me more important than knowing what is the right hour or admiring a perfect beauty, it is being aware that Life is now. It is homage to time, with poetry and magic: Carpe Diem!
